Chinese New Year Parade in Chinatown LA

This past weekend I attended the Chinese New Year celebration with a few friends in Chinatown in Downtown LA. It was fun finally exploring Chinatown, though it was pretty crowded. Luckily one of my friends was a Chinatown expert who knew all the ins and outs of the area.

Chinese Lantern Festival

While visiting my family in Dallas for the holidays, I made a trip to the Chinese Lantern Festival with my boyfriend. They had a beautiful display of 22 lantern sets at the festival, ranging from cute and cuddly forest animals to exquisite illuminated structures. I was so impressed by the artistry and detail of the sets. I'm happy to see such unique exhibits of art coming to Dallas.
