First Digital Sketch of the Year

Downloaded the Procreate app last night and did my first digital sketch of the year. It's not really based on anything or anyone, it's just what came out. Though, I think the man resembles the stop motion character I developed at school. I'm trying to get used to using this app and drawing on my iPad with a stylus. I'm hoping to get back into drawing more this year!

Chinese New Year Parade in Chinatown LA

This past weekend I attended the Chinese New Year celebration with a few friends in Chinatown in Downtown LA. It was fun finally exploring Chinatown, though it was pretty crowded. Luckily one of my friends was a Chinatown expert who knew all the ins and outs of the area.

Chinese Lantern Festival

While visiting my family in Dallas for the holidays, I made a trip to the Chinese Lantern Festival with my boyfriend. They had a beautiful display of 22 lantern sets at the festival, ranging from cute and cuddly forest animals to exquisite illuminated structures. I was so impressed by the artistry and detail of the sets. I'm happy to see such unique exhibits of art coming to Dallas.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Merry Christmas!

Another wonderful, busy year has passed, and Christmas has come again. So grateful for a happy life with great family and friends.

I received several thoughtful gifts this Christmas, but the biggest surprise I got was an iPad from my parents. Here's the first drawing I did on it using the app DrawCast.
